Retro themes, celestial backgrounds and a love of pop culture and music - it's all here in this piece inspired and named after the song by Korean singer, BoA. A split work representing my favourite artistic elements to incorporate where possible, One Shot, Two Shots is a practice in period-based design creation and the possibilities of mixing 3-dimensional elements with illustration, while maintaining what I feel while listening to this song.
Using bright 1980s design embellishments and technology as inspiration, the text-prominent poster utilises pseudo-3d shapes and a wave motif, framing the Courier New typeface passage. On the illustration, the passage (interpreted from the second pre chorus' translations) serves as context for the woman’s style and pose; acting as a narrative concept.
The synth-pop and house elements of the song influenced this piece and my visual/scenario interpretation of the lyrics and music, a skill deeply linked to my work ethic and creativity in art and design.
